Just as the title says. This post is mostly for beginners, who are just getting sarted online. Here you’ll find a small list that shows you different types of websites that people use to make money online…
Forum – A place where people go to discuss particular topics with each other. Good forums usually keep growing on their own. People refer friends, traffic increases, and you make more money
Blog – A blog is a site like this one. Nowadays wordpress makes it easy to set up a blog and make money online.
Opt-in page - Usually offers a free gift to capture leads, and monetize them later on. We’re talking about a page like this one -> http://imheadlines.org
Sales Page – Usually a single page website used to sell a product. They usually give the visitor 2 choices. Either they buy the product, or close the website.
Social Network – Like facebook, myspace etc… Just like forums, these sites can keep growing on their own.
Video sharing websites – Sites that allow people to share their own videos, like youtube
Article directory – A site that allows people to post articles. A very well-known article directory is ezinearticles
Social bookmarking site – A site that gives people the ability to bookmark urls and share them with the world!
Website Directories – They allow webmasters to list their websites for backlinks and/or for traffic purposes. Some directories offer free listing, reciprocal listing, and paid listing. Each of these 3 will have different benefits
Search engine – A website that people use to seach for other websites. Examples of this are google, msn and yahoo.
TGP – Stands for thumbnail gallery pics. This is a site with plenty of adult pictures. Once clicked, the picture will lead to the affiliate site where the users can watch a sample video and/or look at some pictures, then hopefully, they will buy a membership.
If you ask me to choose a site from these, I would choose a blog, and the reason is simple. Blogs are easy to get traffic to, and easy to monetize aswell. Today we have wordpress, which makes it super simple to set up a good looking blog. And more importantly, it would seem that google prefers wordpress blogs over static html websites
