Monetize Your Blog with AdBrite
AdBrite is basically a marketplace for digital advertising. It enables you to instantly sell ads to your visitors via a "Your Ad Here" link, in addition to selling through AdBrite’s marketplace. You can also set your own ad rates and control which ads are published on your blog.
Bloggers can place a small portion of code on their blog with which their visitors can "buy ad space". Through the code added to your blog, AdBrite will handle the serving, scheduling, billing, support, and sales.
If you're using AdBrite, in addition to Google Adsense, you can turn off AdBrite's keyword targeted-network ads and AdBrite will only display ads that have been approved by you. If you have no ads running, AdBrite will display nothing but "Your Ad Here", so no real estate is wasted and you have nothing to lose.
AdBrite sign up is free, quick and painless. They ask you the standard typical questions like name address, payee tax information, and so on. You are then asked to input your site details and give some information about your website. The information meant to help your website get listed in the proper area, and help potential advertisers locate it.
As soon as you are accepted to the program and place the code on your site, you can start defining your advertising zone. You can set various pricing models such as 7 day advertising, 1 month advertising, or any other time fame you want to create. You can also set up a pay per click model if you desire.
Once someone decides to advertise on your website you’ll get an email from the system alerting you there is a new ad up for review.
Aside from selling ad space you can also make money from AdBrite's affiliate program. You get to keep up to 50% of the revenue that your referred webmaster brings in for first three months, and 10% to follow for next 9 months.
Sixty days after you’ve hit your minimum payout (the lowest payout is $20) you’ll get a report via email telling you a check has been sent listing the amount and statistics for the pay period. You can also log into your account and see future payments and dates.
So, what are you waiting for? Try to integrate more revenue stream into your blog. Click here to get started as a publisher.

Target .edu and .gov Sites for Backlinks
One thing I learned new from their post is that...
It is widely accepted that .edu and .gov backlinks carry a larger weight for search engine algorithms. Despite the fact that google has never admitted it (sometimes it even neglected) most SEO and online marketing would confirm that .edu and .gov links outperform other extensions in terms of search ranking juice.
So, why don’t you try gathering .edu and .gov backlinks?
9 Ways to Triple Your Google AdSense Revenue
How can you be sure that your Google Adsense placement will bring you the fullest possible income for ur blog? We have no time to experiment creating another identical blog nor we do not have the luxury of time to experiment all combinations of ad placement. But we can follow and observe how high adsense blogger place AdSense ads on their blog.
So, I look around, make some research and this is what I found so far.
- Link Units can be a very good source of Adsense revenue if placed somewhere near the site navigation links.
- Ads that do not blend with the background do not perform well.
- Ads that are located in the sidebar and below the page fold are rarely visible to the site visitors.
- Ads that are located in the sidebar generally do not perform well.
- The perfect location for the Search Box is in the upper right corner. Additionally, the search results page should use the new Adsense code that allows visitors to search without leaving the site.
- A 250x250 wide format ad unit mixed with the blog content (near the post title) implemented using div float tag is usually very effective. (I cannot use this approach in beta-blogger template. If any body knows how to do it please tell me).
- Ads place at the end of the post is usually effective for lengthy post. Users would typically read the full post and then look for pointers to extra reading.
- Consider the Adsense Heat diagram as your guide
- New visitors to a blog are also interested to know more about the blog author so their eyes will automatically search for "About Us" or Profile section of the blog. So it makes sense to place a small 200x200 ad just below the profile section since that space receives lot of attention from new visitors. (I will be working to implement this one).
The above knowledge causes me to change my blog's layout. I now have a search box at the upper right corner and I no longer have Adsense ads in the sidebar. I cannot yet say if this is the best Google AdSense layout for my blog. But knowing this is what successful bloggers do, it give me some comfort zone.

Ultimate Methods on How to Increase Your Blog Popularity

Sifry finds that there is a direct relationship between authority and blog posting volume. In the low, middle, and high authority groups, there isn't much variation in posting frequency or blog age (number of days a blog has been in existence). To get to the high authority group (500 or more blogs linking), it simply takes persistence. It's how long you've been around not how much you post (averaging about 18 posts a month).
However in the very high authority group (more than 4000 blog linking), there is a sea change in behavior. Posting volume doubles, and blog age is about 4 years.
The above data clearly tell us that to be able to increase our blog popularity we should do two things: post often and post persistently. These two are some of the characteristics of successful blogger. They are also the ultimate method to increase your blog propularity. I hope you get this point.
I am very happy to report to you this blog whose aged is 60 days old and having an authority of 39 owns more authority than the 1,111,882 blogs whose average age is 90 days. This is all because of you readers. Thank you very much.
Remember, post often and post persistently. These are the ultimate method on how to increase your blog propularity.
How To Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Terminated
Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search results.
Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engine happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.
For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Here are some you must avoid:
Hidden texts. Filling your advertisement page with texts too small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty.
Page cloaking. There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.
Multiple submissions. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a site under two separate URL’s is the same as inviting trouble and even termination.
Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.
Link farms. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so limit your outgoing links.
Page rank for sale. If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct
advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on all of the search engines' bad sides.
Doorways. This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another “user-friendly” page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, avoid them at all costs.
Multiple domains having the same content. In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP’s, registry dates and other data. Having multiple domains with the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.
Improve Your Adsense Earnings Six Reasons
The ones who have been there and done it have some useful tips to help those who would want to venture into Adsense. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot of earnings in the past
Here are 5 proven ways on how best to improve your earnings.
1.Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format has the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click‑
through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be to your advantage.
2.Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.
3.Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.
4.Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.
5.Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.
These are some of the tips that have worked well for some. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that person will be viewing already.
Why Adsense Should Be Used On Content Sites
To know why Adsense is essential for your content sites is to know first how this works.
The concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program.
The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the web master serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.
The search engine is the one handling all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive and targeted ads without having the hassle to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time consuming task in itself.
It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.
The first reason why Adsense should be used on content sites is because it understands the needs of publishers and webmasters, and their visitors. Fulfilling these needs ensures continued success.
The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search
The last and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated having their ads served on targeted websites.
This targeting of traffic increases the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services.
Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more targeted the search engines’ ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site content and how best to maintain the content rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.
How to Make Money with Adsense
After making blog or website You sign up for AdSense(Click Here http://www.google.com/adsense To Get Adsense Account) and if your site is accepted, Google gives you some code to paste into your web pages. It's JavaScript stuff that you can simply add into the HTML of your page. When someone views your page this JavaScript fetches ads from Google. If they then CLICK on your ad, Google charges the advertiser a click through fee and shares it with you.
This is entirely AUTOMATIC so if you have a content rich site with lots of traffic that is not currently making you any money, AdSense is something you should seriously consider.
Now maximising this process is much harder and it raises what I call the content dilemma which we'll explore later too: Is your site designed to earn AdSense revenue or is its main objective something else?
The reason you need to think this one through is that when someone clicks on an AdSense ad on your website they go away because AdSense ad clicks never open up a new window.
So that's the background to AdSense.
Rejected by Google?
If you can't get into the AdSense program, don't despair! There are things you can probably do to improve your chances and you can re-submit your site. Look carefully at the criteria for acceptance again on Google own site. Make sure you have relatively clean content, with lots of text (Google can't "read" the content of a picture and it doesn't deal well with Flash animations) and focus your copy on the theme of the web page.
You will also need to ensure that your site is big enough so that it isn't regarded as too trivial. Some people say you should go for at least 20 pages but in my experience you don't need that much - you just need good content.

What Is AdSense & How can I Make Money From It

Before looking at AdSense, I feel that it is necessary to give a brief description of pay per click advertising. The biggest and most powerful ppc system is called Google Ad Words.
Ad Words
You will have seen Ad Words in action before. They are those little text ads that appear down the right hand side of Google’s search results. They are an amazingly powerful method of advertising. The ads you see are 100% related to the keywords that you type into a search. This means, that as an AdWords advertiser you are capable of displaying your ads in front of an audience that is already interested in your products or services. Never before have businesses been able to conduct their advertising in such a highly targeted manner.
If your internet company rented holiday properties in Spain for example, you could set up your AdWords ads to appear ONLY when someone typed in keywords like “Spanish, Spain, holiday, rental, villas, apartments, properties etc.”
Of course, this all comes at a price. As an advertiser, you have to pay Google every time somebody clicks on one of your ads. Not knowing how to cost their system, the geniuses at Google came up with the idea of letting their advertisers bid against each other for the value of their chosen keywords.
This means, that if I wanted my ad to be displayed the most often when someone types the key phrase “Spanish holidays” into Google, I would have to out bid the advertiser who currently comes top of the list for this key phrase.
The Internet has matured as a result of ppc advertising. The embarrassing days of the Dot Coms are well and truly behind us. The value of online businesses can now be measured because ppc advertising is a dynamic system that reflects real- world supply and demand.
With ppc advertising, Google has enabled small online businesses to flourish, whilst making tens of billions for themselves.
AdSense
With their follow up program AdSense, Google created an opportunity for everybody to get a share in this lucrative market.
AdSense is an extension of the AdWords program that allows any website owner to place Ad Words ads on their site. However, the difference in this system lies in the fact that the ads displayed come not from search phrases, but from the content of your site.
As an AdSense user, Google gives you a piece of JavaScript that has your unique id embedded within it. This enables them to track the performance of the ads on your site. You simply paste this code into the html of your website.
Then, when someone views your site, the JavaScript automatically fetches ads from the Google server and places them on your page. Google does this with its advanced content recognition technology. This technology is so clever, that it knows which country you are viewing a site from. It then places country specific ads accordingly. For example, if you had a site about fly-fishing, people viewing your site in Australia would see ads for Australian fishing tackle retailers, and in the USA people would see ads for American retailers.
When someone clicks on one of your ads, Google charges the advertiser. Google then takes a cut of the money and gives the rest to you. Although Google won’t disclose any details about their payout ratio, it is rumored that they take 32% and you get 68%.
Before you start thinking: why don’t I just click on my ads all day long and make loads of money? Google has thought of this and takes click fraud very seriously. They want their advertising system to work. They can tell if you have been committing click fraud and will bar you from AdSense FOR EVER!
How to make good pots
For sure you may have heard about the importance of good content online and for sure you may have encountered blogs stressing the importance of good quality post. Content is king - that's what websites say. Go for quality post - is a common advise you get from most bloggers. But do these things matter to you?
If you want to become a successful blogger then the whole idea of good content and quality post will matter most to you.
But what do you think makes a good post? Can you squarely answer the question? If yes and you practice the art of making a good post then you are on the right track to succeed. Unless you can define what makes a good post you can never make one. That's it. You can never make one good quality post if you cannot articulate what makes a good post.
So, what makes a good post? I have lists some of the things I believe that makes a good post. See if you can agree with me or if you can add more.
- It is on-topic within the bound of your blog's theme.
- An original message
- A useful topic, easily broadened to be useful to a large number of readers
- It has good, clear title and informative subject line
- Include "hot" links for more details
- It is timely, about current information
- Long length is alright but shorter messages are better than long ones
- Picture inclusion is a plus, if you can use video, even better
- Short paragraphs read well
- Keep the action going and doesn't slow down the rest of the plot
- One that allows your character to interact with others
- One that provides other members with an opportunity to carry on from it - one that stimulates interaction
- Employ simple language with no useless jargon
- Focusing on something that people have previously taken for granted and causes the reader to look at the world differently all day long
- Makes others want to post as well
- It says something in agreement to someone else and adds a bit
- Have links that are either authorative on your topic or that capture some obscure, but highly useful piece of related knowledge
- Get to the point quickly
The above lists are the things I believe that makes a good post. I'm sure the list is not complete and you may have your own definition on what makes a good post. If you have something valuable to add, you are welcome to place it the comment area.
Remember, unless you can define what makes a good post you can never make one.
Good luck!
Target Popular Bloggers to Link to Your Blog
Wall Street Journal made mention on how to target bloggers well-known in your industry to link to your Web site.
Here's a new catchphrase in search-engine optimization these days: Link baiting.
The term may sound shady, but link baiting is an aboveboard tactic that calls for generating new or particularly interesting content on a Web site in hopes that a popular Web site links to it. Having well-ranked Web sites link to yours boosts your site's search-engine results, because most major search engines -- including Google and Yahoo -- consider the number and "quality" of links when generating their rankings. And, having your site linked to a popular site likely will prompt other sites to link to your site as well.
Suppose, for instance, you'd love to have a blogger who's well-known in your industry link to your Web site. You notice this blogger frequently highlights interesting strategies for funding a start-up business. So in hopes of piquing that blogger's interest, you add well-written, interesting content to your site about new trends in start-up financing. Then you conveniently shoot an email to that blogger with a link to the post.
Just remember, authority sites won’t squander reader equity to link to unworthy content. So, work for high quality content whose theme favors the readers best interest of the Blog you are targeting.

Learn 17 lessons for Successful Blogging
Those who do not learn from others or from their own experiences miss the fullness of life and invite so much unnecessary misery. If you want to be successful in blogging you need to learn from successful bloggers. And if you want to be more successful you need to learn from the mistakes of successful bloggers.
So what's the highlight of today's post? It's the blogging experiences of Online Marketing Blog as they learned the ins and out of blogging in their over 3 years of existence. Here are the 17 leasons they learned from blogging:
1. Blogging has been their single most effective marketing initiative.
2. Blogs can serve as a very effective platform for connecting online social networks and offline interactions.
3. One of the most effective ways at getting into the media is to become the media in your industry via a blog.
4. Finding your "blog voice" is important. People will visit and interact with your blog based on whether your regular communication patterns resonate with them or not. If you're all over the board, you'll hold some people for a while, but not long.
5. A rushed blog post that is not well thought out can quickly cause the wrong kind of attention or misinterpretation.
6. As your blog grows in popularity (RSS subscribers and visitors via links and search engines) the more you have to lose or gain with the quality of your posts.
7. The whole transparency thing is great in theory, but is only as effective as your ability and willingness to articulate.
8. Don't do it all on your own. Invite guest bloggers and include other bloggers from your company.
9. Don't blog when you're mad, really tired and especially not if you've been out on the town.
10. Blogs can be excellent conduits to connections and friendships with people that you may never meet in person.
11. Blogging is forever. Once you hit publish, it's out there. There's no taking it back.
12. The feedback loop to blogging can get addicting and like other addictions, can have serious side effects. Consuming a large part of your productive and free time without a corresponding return on effort is one of those side effects. These effects can be abated by having a clear blogging strategy and following blogging guidelines.
13. Blogs can be exceptional tools to boost visibility on search engines as well as social media channels.
14. Poorly configured, badly optimized and infrequently updated blogs are nothing more than spam magnets.
15. It's just as important, and maybe more, to link out from your blog as it is to get incoming links.
16. Widgets and plugins can be very effective if not necessary enhancements to default blog configurations that will assist in building community, making administration easier and for blog optimization.
17. Online Marketing Blog has been a very effective tool for building credibility and opening doors to connections with search engines and people in the search marketing industry that would otherwise might not have happened.
Want to be a Problogger?
1. Time
2. Expertise on a topic
3. Passion for the topic
4. Writing skills
5. Technical Knowledge
6. Blogging Knowledge
7. Web Design Skills
8. Business/Marketing Knowledge
9. Creativity and Innovative Ideas
10. Network of contacts
To the above list however, I believe time is one of the main issue specially for people (like me) that get into blogging while still having a full time job. It is really a tough job trying to make a fulltime income from blogging part time. Basically, you cannot really quit the job to blog full time if you are not making enough.
But who say’s we are here for an easy life? If we want to be a successful problogger then go work hard and smart. Remember, problogging takes time, time for you and for me to learn, perfect our skills, experience and enjoy.
Increase Your Traffic by Sending Your Traffic to Other Blogs
to your blog then sends your visitors to visit other blogs, websites and even to your competitor blogs.
You may be thinking that the above is the foolish thing to do but I am here telling you that this is at par with other effective blog traffic strategies.
If you blog about what your competitors are saying and if you place their links within your post then you are doing brilliant service to your readers. Readers will lover your blog more. It appears to them that your blog has more authority in the industry your blog belong.
The more you send people away to more valuable resources, the more valuable you become to your target audience and the more your readers will stick with you. Also, blogging about other bloggers position yourself to get your blog cited by them at some point. Thus, will increase your traffic coming from them.
Boost Your Traffic from orkut, facebook etc
More are said that social networking sites will bring you some traffic. But what exactly bloggers must do to make this claim a realization? This is what exactly this post is all about. There are 5 techniques to draw traffic from social networking sites and these are:
- Share a well made profile about you. The first step to getting traffic from social networking sites is to create your own profile. It is our human nature that we can relate better to a person we knew than to a complete stranger. So create your profile to reflect your personality. The key thing here is to be able to present your profile with ease. It also helps if you can ensure you have something on your profile that is beneficial to user coming at your profile.
- Create friends and build a strong network. Social networks are about relationships, creating friendships and expressing one's self. Yes, go out of your way to make friends because the more friends you make, the more people would want to be friends with you. You'll never know more of them will become your next customers or at least bring traffic to your blog.
- Communicate frequently. The more you communicate, the stronger your relationship is. Show genuine interest to your friends. Send personal messages, pictures and a lot more.
- Avoid making a sales speech. You heat to be sold as much as your friends heat it. Express your ideas and opinion clearly without business prejudice.
- Post to bulletins regularly. Here you can give updates to your network of friends on what's happening to you. While this is one of the most effective tools to interact with your target segment and provides a cost effective way to reach out to your users, this feature is often misuse. Post only to bulletins to maintain interactivity with your friends and only when you have something interesting to tell. To be effective, make the headline of your post attractive and meaningful.
Social networking sites provide extremely cost effective medium to promote your blog, your products and services. They must be form part of your online traffic building techniques. One thing special about the kind of traffic coming from social networks sites - they tend to be more viral than the traffic coming from search engines and exchange links.
Master these techniques and see for yourself the growth of your traffic coming from social network sites.
